For the Anishinaabe creation is a gift. But it’s also a gift that forms a bond not just between giver and receiver, but between creatures.

The concept of humans having dominion over creation has caused horrific exploitation of our natural resources. But we are to be God’s ambassadors for and of creation. Creation is a gift where the line between giver and receiver dissolves. We don’t just receive a gift, we participate in it.
