As part of our year-long grant to study anti-racist worship practices, RMC hosted a panel on the intersections and fractures in Mennonite Church USA. We had more than 160 folks join us on Wednesday, May 24 at 7 p.m. for an online discussion of the ways race and sexuality are utilized for division and the possibilities for mutual liberation in the church.
Panelists:
- Shana Chivon Green – Community activist and pastor
- Joanne Gallardo – Conference Minister, Indiana-Michigan Conference
- Jerrell Williams – Pastor, Salem Mennonite Church
- AnnaBeth Roeschley, moderator – Executive director, Brethren Mennonite Council for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Interests
This year-long exploration is made possible through a Vital Worship Grant from the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship, Grand Rapids, Michigan, with funds provided by Lilly Endowment Inc
