Reflections on 45 years of ministry – July 12, 2020

July 15, 2020

John 15:1-17

[Note: there were a few technical glitches during Duane and Lois’s sharing via Zoom. These were edited out and as a result there are a couple of places that don’t completely flow together.]

Duane uses the passage from John to reflect on the way Jesus was pruned for ministry. He shares about the peace he arrived at after being filled with regrets about his ministry as he neared retirement after serving three congregations over the course of 45 years.

Lois shares out of John 15:15, the transformation from being in relationship as a servant to that of a friend. Her relationships and friendships developed here in Raleigh have been a blessing to her as she has been a blessing to the many she has encountered and ministered to.

Duane concludes with an admonition and a blessing for Raleigh Mennonite as we move to a new space downtown.
