Congregations for Social Justice Annual Dinner

We'll be joining with other Triangle congregations for an annual dinner 6:30-8:30 at Crossroads Fellowship Church. Dinner will be catered by the Interfaith Food Shuttle. Donations of food or checks will be given to the Food Shuttle. The Affordable Housing and Prisoner Re-entry Task Groups will report. Bruce Lightner, leader of the MLK Celebration will speak on Gang Intervention. Please RSVP to Duane by March 1.

Warmth for Wake wood splitting and delivery

Join the Service Adventure volunteers in helping to split and deliver wood for Wake County families who have limited means to warm their homes. Work begins at 9 a.m. and should be done before 2 p.m. Meet at the Raleigh Yard Waste Facility, 900 N New Hope Rd. Let Stan know if you have interest.

Peace Booth at the NC State Fair

Volunteer to take a shift at the Peace Booth this year at the North Carolina State Fair! Each year RMC takes a day (usually the first Saturday) to staff the booth. Talk with Chris Dreps if you would like to help out.

Sailing Acts / Missions Conference

Join us for supper at 5:30 and a time of sharing some of the work of Virginia Mennonite Missions. At 7 p.m. Linford and Janet Stutzman will be sharing about their experiences on a sailing trip following Paul’s missionary journeys recorded in the Book of Acts. They have written a book about their experiences.

"Two Evenings on Immigration" will occur Saturday, October 4th and Saturday, October 18th at 7:00pm in the RMC auditorium. This is a 2 part educational/discussion series. Oct 4th we'll watch and discuss a documentary ("De Nadie") which shows why and how immigrants come to the U.S, and what the related social justice issues may be. October 18th we'll focus on immigrants in the Raleigh area. Info. will be shared about the lives of immigrants here in 2008, and about the current immigration crack-down taking place. What, if any, is the role of people of faith?
